Spark Science

SPARK SCIENCE  AIRS:  5:00PM SUNDAY,  12:00PM THURSDAY, 3:00PM SATURDAY on KMRE-LP 102.3 FM or on kmre.org

Spark Science, the weekly radio show and podcast is a delightful tour through the world of science where we explore stories of human curiosity. Hosted by Dr. Regina Barber DeGraaff and Jordan Baker. kmre.org

Regina’s childhood was divided between living in the Lynden, WA and several summers in California. She attended Western Washington University (WWU) for her undergraduate education and completed her PhD in Physics in 2011 from Washington State University with a focus in Astrophysics, studying globular cluster systems.

Dr. Regina Barber DeGraaff currently teaches physics and astronomy at WWU where she is also the faculty advisor for various science clubs that promote inclusion and strive to make science accessible to all.

Jordan grew up in Lynden but calls Bellingham home now. He started taking improv classes at the Upfront Theatre in January 2013 because his wife made him (he loves it now). With no high school diploma or self-esteem he found himself in the service industry cutting up dead animals for a living. Jordan is excited to be in the Main Stage Ensemble.

The image below is of Regina and Jordan in Lynden Middle School (eighth grade) in the early 90’s.  Jordan has known Regina’s husband, Jake, since Jordan was eight years old.
